Dave Bickler is the original singer of the American rock legend Survivor.

In 1982 Survivors biggest hit, "Eye of the Tiger", was No.1 on the Billboard charts for six weeks. It was personally commissioned by Sylvester Stallone as part of the very successful Rocky III soundtrack.

The song won Survivor a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. It was voted "Best New Song" by the People's Choice Awards, received an Academy Award nomination, came in at No.18 on the "Top 100 Singles" chart in Billboard's 100th Anniversary issue, sold over 2.5 million copies on iTunes, is featured on popular electronic games such as Guitar Hero, and was ranked No.63 on VH1's "100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs" in 2008.

With "American Heartbeat" contained the 1982 album yet another US Top 20 hit.

After the release of the follow-up work "Caught In The Game" Bickler initially left Survivor, but returned from 1993 to 2000 and back 2013-2014.

Survivor are next to Toto, Journey, Foreigner and REO Speedwagon to the 'Big 5' of the radio-friendly AORs or Classic Rocks.
